Charles Dickens
Charles Dickens was the most popular writer in the 19th century. He wrote during the Victorian Era. Charles was a middle class man. He always stood up for the poor and helpless. Dickens would speak out against people who were cruel, selfish, and greedy.
industrialization
They started using factories to make large amounts of goods for less money. The used children or teens to work in the factories because they could do the same work and would do it for less pay.
Victorian Era
The Victorian Era was in the 1800's. There wasn't really a middle class back then, it was either you were extremely rich or extremely poor. After slavery was banned, child labor was very popular. Charles Dickens lived and wrote during this era.
