Reflections from Elder's Desk
It was so refreshing to walk the halls of AMCHS and observe so many happy faces, and listen to the conversations surrounding the new year. We are off to an exciting start for 2018, and we must continue to push forward to the level of greatness that we all yearn.
As we examine our challenges for the spring semester and identify our goals, it is imperative that we do not overlook the small things in accomplishing our objectives. In reviewing the last few weeks of the semester, I noticed some small things that were not being accomplished to the level of excellence that we require. For example, requiring students and staff to wear ids, being on time, and adhering to dress code, are small things that we demand but were not consistently achieved. These small things support a safe and orderly environment, maintain a positive atmosphere, and help shape our campus climate. When these small things are ignored, they can become bigger issues. Everyone has to take an active part in addressing these small things, so we call experience the level of success that we envision.
We will continue to be the best school that we can be and be great in everything that we undertake. We have power and influence to make a difference.
Expecting Greatness in 2018, and it begins with doing the small things well.
