Virtual Teacher Spotlight
Mr. Joshua Coombe is the KCS Virtual Program's Algebra 2 teacher as well as our tutor! He is also a math teacher at Capital High School and has been teaching there since 2017. Mr. Coombe enjoys teaching virtually because it is nice for him to experiment with different mediums of teaching and learning. He enjoys finding ways to help his students through messages and comments. He can supplement his words with informative graphics or links to videos that he has found to be helpful.
Outside of teaching, Mr. Coombe enjoys spending time with his wife and 7 month old daughter, Evelyn. He loves to go running too, and thinks it is one of the best times to meditate and think. He is also a board game enthusiast and will try to get a game going whenever he can! This hobby extends into the classroom, where it is his long term goal to find or create board games that he can us to teach math or make it more fun to practice.
We are lucky to have Mr. Coombe on our virtual team! If you need any help in math, you can work with him every Tuesday and Thursday from 4-6 PM at the KCS Board of Education.
