What's Happening!
Even with another week disrupted by snow, a lot of great things are taking place at THS that many students will be engaged in during the next few months. Congratulations to Sophia Campbell and Taylor Hapenny who were selected to attend the 71st annual Student Government Day program at the State House in April! Student Government Day is an opportunity for students from across the Commonwealth to experience "the process of government" by taking part in simulated activities in which they serve in the role of a government official. The Hugh O'Brien Leadership Conference, is a leadership seminar held at Bentley University. Each year 10th grade students have the opportunity to attend; they must submit an essay, and have an interview with the school counselors. This year, we are proud to announce that Jason Kelly and Anya Gemos were chosen to attend the HOBY Leadership Conference. Congratulations!
Students in Service Learning are implementing projects supporting causes such as The Susan G. Komen Foundation, The American Heart Association, Lowell Humane Society and St. Jude's Children's Hospital. Many students in ELA classes are busy working on research papers as we move through the trimester. Members of the THS Robotics team attended the Botball workshop at UMass Lowell today and will be taking part in Botball Tournament in April.
Congratulations to the senior members of the Swim and Dive team as they will be recognized during Senior Night at the Greater Lowell pool today at 5:30. We would also like to wish our teams continued success at the compete this winter season. Best of luck as you move toward qualifying for post season play.
Have a great weekend!

Senior Parents/Guardians:
Make sure to submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) application if you have not already done so. This application can be found at fafsa.gov. The FAFSA is the most important application in the financial aid process. All colleges and universities will require the FAFSA before determining a financial aid award. Colleges may also require students to complete a CSS/Financial Aid PROFILE (profileonline.collegeboard.org) and/or a college specific financial aid application. It is important to be aware of each college's financial aid deadlines - missing deadlines could result in missing out on financial aid. For more information on the financial aid process please visit mefa.org.
Middlesex Community College will host FAFSA Day, a free community workshop to help students and families fill out the 2018-2019 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), the federally required application for financial aid. The workshop will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 10, on the Lowell campus, 33 Kearney Square.
FAFSA Day at Middlesex offers different options for families seeking assistance, including computer support, to complete the FAFSA online, as well as one-on-one assistance from financial aid experts. To register please go to FAFSADay.org.
