Lovejoy Orchestra Newsletter
February 23, 2017
Parents,
Thank you so much to everyone who came out to Palio's pizza on Tuesday, we really appreciate your support! The Chamber and Symphony Orchestra's had a fantastic clinic last night with Ms. Ellen Townley. They learned so much and we are cleaning up the final touches for our competition next week.
The Philharmonic Orchestra will perform next on MONDAY, February 27th at our Winter Concert. This concert will be much shorter than normal because all UIL groups will be performing in a separate performance on a different night. This concert starts at 6:30 p.m. in the LHS Auditorium. Philharmonic Orchestra will need to arrive at 6:30 p.m. in the orchestra room wearing their formal uniform.
Symphony and Chamber Orchestra are going to be performing at UIL Concert and Sightreading Contest NEXT WEEK! The performances will be at the Allen HS PAC and parents are more than welcome to attend! We will need parent volunteers to help with the transportation of instruments on these days, please email Mrs. Winkler OR Mr. Sloan if you are available to help out!
Symphony is performing on Wednesday, March 1st at 3 p.m. We will need parent volunteers with large vehicles to help us transport cellos and basses to meet at the high school at 1:30 p.m.
Chamber is performing on Thursday, March 2nd at 10:20 a.m. We will need parent volunteers with large vehicles to help us transport cellos and basses to meet at the high school at 8:45 a.m.
If you have any questions please let us know!

The online payment system for the Orchestra Spring Trip is finally available. I know that most everyone sent checks for the first payment, however you may still use the online system for future payments.
Below are the instructions on how to access it. It is a little clumsy since it is also attached to our Charms accounts.
Here is the Link:
https://lovejoy.revtrak.net/tek9.asp?pg=LHS_FineArts
When the link opens click on the Washington D.C. Orchestra Trip button.
In the next window (Charms parent/member/student area)
Enter lovejoyorch in the school code field.
In the next window enter your student's charms password. It should be their student ID ( unless you have changed it)
The next window ask for you to change your password, you do not have to change it. Click on the $ tap at the top of the window and it will take you to the Student Financial Statement window.
In the Student Financial Statement window you will click on the select trip drop down menu and select Washington DC. Click on make payment
In the next window you will enter the amount of the payment you wish to make and click on start payment.
The next window will show the amount of the payment and the trip for which it will be made. Click on go to checkout and follow the instructions to make payment.
Please let me know if you have any difficulties with this process.
