SEL News from the desk of Amy Argubright
Hello! Each week, the SEL newsletter focuses on a different SEL competency and includes valuable resources and activities that you can use to promote well-being at home or in the classroom. This week's topic is Self-Management and Impulse control. Self-Management is defined by the CASEL website as the “ability to manage one's emotions, thoughts, and behaviors effectively in different situations and achieve goals and aspirations. This includes the capacities to delay gratification, manage stress, and feel motivation and agency to accomplish personal and collective goals." Impulse control is linked to greater life outcomes- higher test scores and higher academic achievement.
I am happy to be here to support the students, staff, and families of CMS! Have a great week!
