Good morning Steeple Run Super Stars!
I have a few happenings at Steeple Run that I would like to highlight this morning. First and foremost it is Teacher Appreciation Week; as you might have seen our Home & School organization in coordination with our school community is putting together several thoughtful gifts throughout the week. In addition to these thoughtful contributions, I encourage you to take a moment to thank a teacher (with a quick note or e-mail) who has been instrumental in your child's success. We know teachers are only second to the home in their ability to effect change in our students' achievement; thank you for joining me in expressing your appreciation!
We have made major progress toward the installation of our buddy bench! As you can see below we have installed an accessible concrete pad that will provide an outstanding location for the placement of our bench. If you remember this exciting project was plagued by setbacks and delays due to everything from damage sustained by shipping to a hurricane that slowed production. We hope that is all behind us and that we will soon be able to unveil our buddy bench to our students and community...I will keep you posted!
If you are tuned into our district's board documents you may have read that our very own Ms. Bailey is on to new adventures for the 2019-20 school year. This unexpected change was thanks to Ms. Bailey's fiancé who was offered a professional opportunity they could not turn down. While Ms. Bailey and I have had many tears over this news I am thankful for all she has brought to our school community. Please join me in wishing Ms. Bailey the very best!
Sincerely,
Principal Louis
Buddy Bench Pad
Thank you Ms. Bailey!

2019-2020 School Supplies
School Supply order forms have been sent home via backpack mail and are available on the Steeple Run Elementary website here. If you wish to order a supply kit from Home & School (H&S), please return your order form and payment by Wednesday, May 22nd. This is a great way to avoid the back to school crowds and save the amount of sales tax you would be charged at a retail store. Supply Kits will be in your student’s classroom on the first day of school.
If you choose to shop on your own for your school supplies and have a student going into grade(s) 3-5, you must purchase an assignment notebook from H&S prior to the end of this school year as indicated on the order form. Carlson’s will not sell the assignment notebook.
Contact Michele Baum at michele_baum19@yahoo.com or 630.881.0109 with any questions regarding school supplies.
