DONATE A BAND INSTRUMENT!
Bring slightly used instruments to Highlands Middle School at 1350 Broadview Boulevard, Natrona Heights (Argonne Drive Entrance), and complete the appraisal form during normal school hours. PROM SHOW - JAN. 31
Check out this year's hottest Prom fashions, purchase goods at the bake sale and take a chance at the Chinese auction basket raffle. HHS students can have a chance to win a free ticket to the Highlands Prom. Special thanks to Formal Reflections for providing dresses, Top Hat Tuxedo for providing tuxedos and Phillip Pelusi for helping with hairstyles!

MOVIE NIGHT - JAN. 23
All students and family members are invited to attend a movie night featuring “FROZEN” on Friday, January 23 at 7:00pm in the High School Audion,
There will be a special guest appearance from your favorite Disney Frozen Characters and a musical performance by the High School Variations Show Choir!
Admission is free; donations greatly appreciated upon entrance. Concession food and drinks will be available for purchase.

HIGHLANDS ALUMNI CABARET
The annual Musical Alumni Cabaret Fundraiser “A Wild & Wonderful Evening with the GOLDEN Stars!” will be held Saturday, Feb. 7 beginning at 7 PM at Highlands High School in the Auditorium. Enjoy musical selections from current and former students from the Highlands Music Department. The evening will include light refreshments and raffles for gift basket giveaways. Tickets cost $5 each. Proceeds benefit the Highlands High School “Tarzan the Musical” Production taking place at Highlands March 6-8.
DRIVING SKILLS ASSEMBLY
Highlands High School students will be presented with the Taking the Lead: Ford Driving Skills for Life program at 9:30 AM on Wednesday, Jan. 21 at Highlands High School in Natrona Heights. The program is designed to educate and encourage students to be safe drivers from a panel of experts, including a state police officer. The program is presented by KDKA-TV and partners. Sarah Arbogast of KDKA-TV will kick off the program.
SAVE THE DATE!
The annual Family Reading Night sponsored by Title I will be held during Read Across America Week on Monday, March 2 at 6:30pm, Highlands Middle School. This year's favorite family-centered event will feature the magic and comedy of Jeff Allan. More details will be posted soon and sent home with Pre-K through Gr. 5 students in the coming weeks.

HOST FAMILIES NEEDED THIS SPRING

First United Presbyterian Church of Tarentum welcomes the Sadecky Puppets on Saturday, Jan. 31 for a special presentation of "A Small Act of Kindness" at 11:00am. The event is FREE and open to the community. The church is located at 913 Lock St. in Tarentum.
Natrona Heights Baseball/Softball Assoc. (NHBSA) registrations for the 2015 season begin on Wednesday, Jan. 21 from 6-8pm at the Harrison Township Municipal Building. Visit www.nhbsa.com for additional registration days and information.

Daffodil Days: Support the Highlands Relay for Life and American Cancer Society by purchasing a “Hope by the Bunch” during the Daffodil Days sales. Cost per bunch is $14 and donations of a “gift of hope” will also be accepted for $14 each. Cash or checks will be accepted, made out to Melissa McCurdy. Flowers will arrive Friday, March 13. Positive Athletes: Don’t forget to send your POSITIVE ATHLETE nominee to Misty Chybrzynski at mchybrzynski@goldenrams.com. Indicate the athlete’s name, grade level, sport, and how they are being a positive athlete. Please also note the best way to contact you with questions.
Salvation Army Afterschool Clubs: Looking for a great afterschool program? Check out the Salvation Army Free Afterschool Clubs on Wednesdays. Transportation available by request. Contact Jared at 724-224-6310 ext. 2 to sign up! Activities offered include Open Gym from 3 – 5pm on Mondays; Kids Supper Club from 4:30 – 6:30pm on Wednesdays and Sunday School at 10 am followed by services through Noon.
