Pride week celebrations
Last week, we celebrated Pride Week at our school! Our students participated in a variety of activities that highlighted the importance of inclusivity and acceptance, such as "Wear your Pride Day" where student dressed up in rainbow colours and a colouring competition with the theme of Poho Kererū - Full of Pride.
To further celebrate Pride Week, our students revamped our rainbow crossing, Students meticulously taped the outlines and applied fresh layers of vibrant paint. We would like to extend a massive thank you to Davey Painters for their technical knowledge and advice, as well as supplies such as paints, tape, and rollers.
On the last day of Pride Week, our students went all out decorating the courtyard with rainbow decorations. The result was a stunning display of colour.
2023 Blood drive
Students and staff rolled up their sleeves to participate in our annual blood drive.
we organise a blood drive every year to give our senior students and teachers the opportunity to donate. The blood drive also gives the students an opportunity to learn about the importance of donating blood and find out their own blood type after their first donation.
A big shoutout to all the students and staff who generously donated, and a special thank you to the NZ Blood team for coming to Trident and supporting our students and staff in giving blood!
Fieldays 2023
Last Thursday was an early start for Mrs Farrell’s Year 13 Geography class who were off to Mystery Creek, Hamilton to visit the Fieldays, the Southern Hemisphere's largest agricultural event. The purpose of the trip was to gather information to give a real world context for an internal assessment where students are required to analyse a significant event from a geographic perspective.
The Fieldays did not disappoint! With over a 1000 exhibitors there were plenty of opportunities to use their geographical knowledge, such as understanding the spatial nature of the event, the interaction between the people and the environment and both the cultural and natural features that make up the event.
We were so fortunate that the Waikato weather was sunny with no fog or mud in sight. The students spend around 4 hours visiting various exhibitors and watching various events.
In all, a great day of learning and being part of this great event.
Spirit Week!

Each competitor took on the challenge of the three top rope climbs, a Boulder challenge, and two Speed climbs, showcasing their skills!
