SAVE YOUR KIDS’ CLOTHES FOR THE HIGHLANDS RESALE
For many years, the Highlands Clothing Resale has been a successful fundraiser for the school. No longer a consignment sale, this year, only donated items will be sold. 100% of
the proceeds will benefit Highlands by funding teacher needs and student programs. These programs include field trips, birthday books, Grandfriends' Day, One Book One School, and so many more.
The resale also provides the greater Naperville community an opportunity to purchase quality used children’s clothing at a great price.
This year’s resale is Friday, February 3rd after school and Saturday, February 4th at Highlands!
As you are finding clothes that no longer fit your children, feel free to set them aside to be included in the upcoming sale. We will begin collecting donated items after winter break. There will be many volunteer opportunities leading up to and during the sale.
If you would like to be part of the planning committee, please join us on Monday, December 12th at 7pm in the Highlands teachers' lounge.
For more information, see the attached flier.
Cookies with Santa - Saturday, 12/11 from 2:00-5:00 @ NNHS
Hello Naperville Community!! Sunday December 11th from 2pm to 5pm, Santa will be in the large cafeteria at Naperville North High School!
Bring your children so they can get photos with Santa, decorate a cookie, drink some hot cocoa, and enjoy other activities and crafts.
Cost: $10 per child, cash or check (made to NNHS) at the door.
Walk-ups are absolutely welcome! By registering ahead of time using the link tinyurl.com/cookieswithsanta2022, you are simply giving us a more accurate prediction of the number of children we will have in attendance.
Book Store open Wednesdays from 9:00-10:30
A reminder that the Highland’s Book Store is open every Wednesday from 9:00-10:30am in the school lobby.
At their teacher’s discretion, students can independently visit the book store and purchase books. Most books are priced between $3-$7, which is less expensive than you can find elsewhere.
The book store is not only a chance to foster love for reading but also to practice counting money and interacting in a store setting.
Students are not expected to visit the store every week but we do hope to see everyone’s face at least once throughout the year!
Winter Whale Wishes
Winter Whale Wishes (formally known as “Giving Tree”) is a Highlands Elementary School tradition where our community supports our sister school, Pioneer Elementary in West Chicago, during the winter season. As a bit of background, our previous Highlands Principal was principal at Pioneer prior to coming to Highlands and we have supported them ever since! Highlands Families are able to donate requested new and wrapped, clothing, books, toys or gift cards.
To donate please sign up here: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/8050f4eafac2ba1f49-winter. Each family has an individual sign up located at the top of the page. Please click on the family letter, review the individual gifts and donate as you wish.
All donations should be individually wrapped and labeled with the Family Letter and Individual Number. Please have your student bring in the donations from December 12 - December 15. The Winter Whale wishes assembly will be on December 16 and donations will be delivered that same day.
For the Winter Whale Wishes assembly this year we will be reading The Mitten Tree By: Candace Christiansen. If you would like to donate mittens and gloves of all sizes please have your student bring them in December 12 - December 15 for our Highlands Mitten Tree.
