TOAST Weekly Newsletter

Week of December 7th-December 11th, 2015

December has arrived....Wow!

The weather may have many of us question if it is truly December! I believe last year at this time we were just coming out of a Thanksgiving snow storm. The latest weather prediction has us reaching 50 degrees this weekend! Let's enjoy it while we can and take Mrs. Ellis's wishes for all of us to heart. Spend time with loved ones and enjoy the small moments that we tend to take for granted.

Congratulations to Miss Sanjana in Mrs. DeLollo's 6th Grade Class on being our District Spelling Bee Winner!!

Scholastic Book Fair Next Week!

PTA has placed a sign-up sheet for teachers to bring scholars to pre-view and shop at this years book fair. Due to space limitations, we will be housing the book fair during the school day within the Library on it's designated days.

Calling All TOAST Coders: Hour of Code at TOAST

Thursday, Dec. 10th, 5pm

Thomas O'Brien Academy of Science & Technology, Albany, NY, United States

Albany, NY

Ms. Whipple has set up an evening for our families and scholars to participate an Hour of Code at TOAST! This is sure to be a great event in conjunction with the national week of Code for December 7th-December 13th, 2015!

Coding for all! (Pick a video...any video..:-)

Below I have added a video link for the Hour of Code that may hook any of your scholars! You do not need any particular tablet or computer to have scholars use Code.org. There are coding activities for all grade levels (pre-k and up!) Take a minute...or 10 to learn some coding with your scholars. You'll enjoy every minute of it and your scholars will never forget seeing their teacher learning to code right beside them!

-Enjoy!
