College Go Week!
Join the fun with another Spirit Week!
What a FUN and BUSY Week!
Students in Grades 1-5 participated in the FairHaven presentations this week. Please talk with them at home about what they learned. These are important lessons for all students, and we value the partnership with home for this.
Students continued to work on iReady this week. This is an important benchmark we use to find present levels for students as well as identify areas students need to work on. There is more information on iReady below.
What FUN we had celebrating Homecoming Spirit Week!! The level of participation was AMAZING! Let's keep in rolling into next week with College Go Week!
iReady Assessments for Grades 1-5
i-Ready is an online program that will help us determine your child’s strengths and areas for growth, personalize their learning, and monitor their progress throughout the school year. i-Ready allows us to meet your child where they are and provides us with data to inform instruction. i-Ready replaces the Star Renaissance Assessments that they students took last school year.
The i-Ready Diagnostic is an adaptive assessment that adjusts its questions based on student responses. Each item a student receives is based on their answer to the previous question. For example, a series of correct answers will result in slightly harder questions, while a series of incorrect answers will yield slightly easier ones. The purpose of this is not to give your child a score or grade but to determine how to best support their learning.
Thank you for your continued support and for being a partner in your child’s learning! I look forward to sharing i-Ready information with you throughout the year. If you have any questions about i-Ready, please do not hesitate to contact the school. You can also learn more about i-Ready by visiting i-ReadyCentral.com/FamilyCenter.

Dismissal
We know the students are excited to play on the new playground, however we need to make sure if they are car riders they know they are NOT to run to the playground while waiting to be picked up. We have announced this to students this week, but are still having some sneak over there. It is important that you help us with this. We are completely okay with parents parking their car and walking to the meeting place near the loading dock road to meet up with their child and walking to the playground together. Please understand we do not have an adult available to supervise this area, as we are all covering different areas of dismissal.

Stay Informed!
The School City of Hobart uses Remind to communicate with families via text messages and/or phone calls.
What are some ways that we use Remind?
- District News- Weekly newsletter, emergency closings, and other important information
- Class Reminders from Teachers - Events, tests, homework, due dates
- Announcements and Celebrations
- One-on-One Help
If you have not been receiving our messages and would like to, please reach out to your student's teacher for their Remind class code, which you will then text to 81010. For example, if you wanted to join a class with the class code @math, you would text @math to 81010.
