2/7/2020 Friday Note
Notes from Mrs. Stull
“The Best Day,Ever!” On Wednesday, Tiffin Elementary celebrated Global School Play Day (see pictures below). The students participated in unstructured play centers. They got to freely choose which center they played in and how long they played in that center. We had fort building, puppet shows, costumes, blocks, open gym, open playground and many more activities in the classrooms. Electronic devices were not allowed, but imaginations were!! Building and creating are an important part of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math) education. The day was well received by both the students and staff and we have plans to celebrate it again next year.
2020 Kindergarten Roundup for February 26, 2020 at 2:00PM
Children residing in the Clear Creek Amana Community School District who will be five years old on or before September 15, 2020, should plan to attend Kindergarten Roundup at their attendance center Wednesday, February 26, 2020.
Kindergarten Roundup is an opportunity for your new student to visit their school and meet their teachers, principal and fellow classmates. Parents and students receive a brief overview of the kindergarten program and its academic/social expectations. Attendance also helps the district plan for the next year's staffing.
Please offer us assistance by informing your neighbors that have children ready to start school.
All families with incoming kindergartners are encouraged to call their nearest elementary school, even if the child already has older brothers or sisters at CCA. For Tiffin Elementary, please call Kali Stockman at 319-545-2081.

Is your 2nd or 3rd grader interested in playing or learning to play Chess? The TES Chess Club will meet Thursdays after school until 4:30 in room C103, Mr. Villhauer’s classroom. We will begin February 6th. Students will learn the basics of Chess and have the opportunity to play against each other. If your child is interested please fill out the parent permission slip found in the Friday note. Questions can be emailed to Jeff Villhauer (second grade teacher) at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We are also looking for adults that are interested in helping with the club from 3:20- 4:30 each Thursday.
