News and Information

We are gearing up for the 3rd week of school and even though we have had more cases of Covid-19 than anyone wants to see, we have enjoyed seeing so many happy, smiling faces back in the building. The district is monitoring case numbers very closely and has made some small changes to the pre-pandemic opening plan in response to those numbers. We are currently not able to hold any large group events or assemblies indoors. This means that we will be kicking off our 4 Tribes, 1 Family program differently than originally planned, but we are used to pivoting by now and will still find a way to make this event exciting for our students. We are also not allowed to have visitors in the cafeteria or classrooms until after September 1st or later depending on how things are looking in the next 2 weeks. As a reminder, the district is not contact tracing or mandating quarantines since the percentage of students who were healthy quarantined due to a close contact last year and consequently tested positive for Covid-19 was very low. If you receive a Covid Notification through our new ParentSquare communication platform, that means that someone in your child's classroom tested positive and your child could have been exposed. You are encouraged to monitor your child for symptoms and have the option to keep them home for a precautionary quarantine where their absence will be excused, but are not required to do so.

While we hate for any of our students to be absent from school, we do encourage you to monitor your child for symptoms of Covid or any other contagious virus that may be going around each morning and keep them home until they are fever-free for 24 hours without fever-reducing medication or other symptoms have improved. If you have your child tested for Covid, please do not send them to school while awaiting those results. If your child should test positive, please notify Nurse Kim so that she can follow up with you.

I know we are all keeping our fingers crossed that this pandemic will hurry up and go away so that we can rest easier knowing our students, friends, and family are safe and that we can keep our school doors open!

Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns. We are always here to help!
