Quote of the Week in Honor of Native American Heritage Month
Radmilla A. Cody born 1975 is a Navajo model, singer, and anti-domestic violence activist who was the 46th Miss Navajo from 1997 to 1998. She was the first biracial Miss Navajo and thus so far the only Miss Navajo partially of African-American heritage, her nomination sparked considerable debate over Navajo identity.
Monday is World Kindness Day. In honor of World Kindness Day, we will be playing Kindness BINGO. Everyone will receive a BINGO card in Advisory on Monday, and you have until Advisory time on Tuesday to complete your BINGO and earn 15 PBIS rewards points.
Parent/Teacher Conferences Thursday
Please plan to join us this Thursday, November 16th, for Parent/Teacher Conferences. Teachers will be able to speak with you about your student's progress from 5:00 pm to 7:30 pm.
Progress Reports for Quarter 2 will be available prior to the event.
Minimum Day (Friday) Schedule
Parking Lot and Traffic Safety
Traffic Flow During Pickup/Drop Off
- When picking up or dropping off students, please do NOT stop in the outer lane of the drive way. If you need to stop and wait for your student to get in or out, please pull as far up as possible and stop against the inner curb (school side).
- We must ask that all families drive safely and carefully while in the school parking lot.
Walking Student Safety
- Students should NEVER cross Jackson street except at the cross walks where they are protected by traffic signals.
- Please speak to your students if they walk to ensure they always walk to the cross walks.
Get Involved as a Parent Volunteer
Our new TJMS Parent Group is ready to get to work supporting the staff and students of TJMS. We would love for as many of you as possible to get involved when you can, how you can.
We have identified volunteer opportunity events for the school year:
TJMS Clubs Garage Sale (December 2nd)
Staff Holiday Luncheon (Date TBD)
TJMS Spring Festival (March 21)
Teacher Appreciation Week Activities (Week of May 6)
Parents are not required to be on the planning committee in order to participate/support any of the events. Participation will require current DSUSD Volunteer clearance.
