A Note From the Director
This week we celebrate Mardi Gras with a parade on Tuesday at 8:30 am in the ECDC gym. See below for more information. Wednesday your children will attend a short service in the chapel with our Deacons and receive ashes. This service is for students only. If you would like to attend Mass, there is a 10 am all-school Mass. Be sure to discuss Lent with your children at home!
It is time for our periodic reminder about what to send to school. Please remember that children are allowed to bring ONE SMALL blanket and ONE SMALL snuggle for resting. Our space is limited so we appreciate everyone abiding by this request. Toys should be left at home as they cause distractions for the children and can be lost or broken. See the handbook excerpt below...
TOYS
Toys from home are not allowed because they may get lost or broken and the child often does not want to share them with the other children. If your child has a special item that would be interesting to share with the rest of the class, check with your child’s teachers to determine if it would be appropriate.
REST TIME
Cots and rest mats are provided by the school. Please bring a small blanket for rest time, as our air conditioning can be chilly. If a child forgets their blanket, we will provide one for the day. In addition to a blanket, children may bring ONE snuggle (e.g. stuffed animal, silky, etc.) for rest time. DO NOT send pillows, sleeping bags, large stuffed animals, pillow pets, etc.
SUPPLIES FOR SCHOOL
When enrolling in ECDC, PK3 and PK4 students receive a small canvas tote bag. This bag shall be used each day to transport blankets, snuggles, water bottles, etc. All items brought to school MUST FIT INSIDE THE PROVIDED TOTE BAG. Replacement bags may be purchased in the school office.
TK students may bring a backpack to school each day. Please make sure all items brought to school fit inside the backpack.
Each day children should bring the following:
Provided tote bag (PK3 and PK4) or Backpack (TK)
change of clothes
water bottle
lunch
blanket/snuggle
