National Aviary Fieldtrip

Cost and Payment:

The cost of this outing is $9.00 per person.

We will collect this payment at the beginning of the outing. However, if you sign up to attend you will need to pay no matter what as we need to pay for our final count that is provided. You may also mail payment ahead of time. If so, make check payment out to "Amy Markle" and mail to Amy Markle, 121 McColly Street, Ligonier, PA 15658. Thanks!

Please RSVP using the link below by January 23rd. Our final count needs to be provided to the Aviary by January 27th.


  • 10:00 am: Arrival time (Sign In, Name Tags/Groups, and Payment Collection)
  • 10:30-10:50 am: Wetlands Feeding-Location- Wetlands
  • 11:00-11:20 am: Beaks Reservation-Location-Theatre
  • 11:30-12:30 pm: Amazing Adaptations-Location-Theatre
  • 12:30-1:00 pm: Lunch-Location-Classroom/Atrium/Igloo
  • 1:00-2:00 pm: Activity Based Tour-Location-Full Facility.
  • 2:00 pm: Dismissal and end of outing. **Attendees may stay until closing and enjoy free time after our dismissal.

Learning Objectives:

  • Enjoy a visit to the National Aviary with PA Virtual!
  • Add 3 hours of Science (if applicable) to your OLS account
  • Students will learn and understand important conservation and environmental concepts through engaging studies of birds from across the globe!
  • Student will be provided with age-appropriate and standards-based, programs that are interactive
