News from the Registrar
GRADUATING SENIORS:
Reminder - Year end transcripts are not automatically sent out to colleges.
It is the Student’s responsibility to request transcripts, either through Parchment.com or at the Poway High’s Registrar’s Office. Transcript requests will not be processed immediately, so please plan accordingly and allow a minimum of four school days for processing. If a transcript is required over a holiday period, the request must be made a minimum of four days prior to the last school day preceding the holiday. (The Registrar will be available for limited hours during the summer break).
Summer School Classes Outside of PUSD:
- ALWAYS SEE YOUR COUNSELOR FIRST! Some classes will not meet graduation requirements, nor earn you credits.
- Your Counselor will provide you with a list of PUSD Approved Outside Courses. Research your options and then let the Registrar know which course you choose to take.
- IN ORDER TO EARN CREDIT ON YOUR HIGH SCHOOL TRANSCRIPT, approval must be granted by the Registrar PRIOR to the first meeting of the course. (The Registrar will have limited summer hours.) Students may take a maximum of 20 credits outside of the district.

Summer Opportunities
What are you doing this summer?
As college becomes more and more competitive, students continue to look for more opportunities to set themselves apart and add to their list of accomplishments. Summer is a great time to take advantage of this. There are endless opportunities available and students are encouraged to do something over the summer they can add to their college applications. Volunteer, take a class, get a job, etc. Find something that is of interest, or that you have a passion for. These are great ways to learn, enjoy your summer and evolve yourself! Many Colleges offer summer programs for high school students. If you are already interested in a specific College or University, review their website or call to see what they offer. Whatever you do, make sure to use this time wisely and effectively while having fun! For some ideas, visit our Summer Opportunities page, or the Summer Discovery Website.
