Lots of Exciting News To Share + Volunteer Opportunites!
WELCOME BACK!
We've been busy working behind the scenes, but have tons of new opportunties to get involved and many exciting upcoming events!
Check out the list below for updates, and please remember join our group on Facebook for updates!
Calling All Volunteers! Board Treasurer & Chairing Opportunities!
When we first formed as a PTO, we had various chairs of different committees. Since over a year has passed, we've reset and charted a course with Ms. Filak and faculty.
We're so excited to be sponsoring several exciting events and fundraisers this year!
We need YOUR HELP in volunteering for new roles within the PTO!
And a reminder that volunteering through PTO does count toward TOP hours!
We need help with the following roles.
- Board Treasurer! With Emily Croft's exciting addition to our faculty (Hooray Mrs. Croft!!) We need to replace her on our board. That means we need a Board Treasurer. The Board meets once per month.
- Scholastic Book Fair Volunteers! Oct 25 - 29 the school will be holding a Book Fair, and the school is in need of parent volunteers to staff the event! For this particular event, please email Ruth Ann Noblick if interested - rnoblick@queenofangelssch.org
- Lead Volunteer Chair - this person would be the contact point for scheduling parents and family members for volunteer activities
- Recess Bag Chair - this person would be responsible for coordinating the recess bags in classrooms
- Family Bingo Chair (February) - we are tentatively planning a Family Bingo Night in February, and need a chair to plan this event.
- End of Year Fun Day Chair (May/June) - the PTO will sponsor the end of year FUN DAY this year! We need a chair for this also.
If you are interested in any of these opportunities, please send an email to queenofangelspto@gmail.com or message us on Facebook!
Please send in your dues! $10 / Family
Also, you do not need to be a parent! Grandparents, Friends, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins - all are welcome to join!
A Year in Review - Last Year's Support
Even though we weren't able to meet last year, we accomplished a LOT in support of our school community, teachers and faculty, and students. We supplied classrooms with activity recess bags through Amazon shopping lists (THANK YOU!) for non-traditional recess activities. We supplied teachers with mircrophones and wipes. We sponsored Dr. Seuss Day! We held a Thank You Luncheon for the teachers at the end of the year, and also supplied the graduating 8th Grade Class with gifts! THANK YOU for all your support last year!
Outdoor Playspace Update!
We've been working closely in partnership with Principal Filak and the faculty to procure safe, exciting, new outdoor activity equipment as part of this overall Playspace project that launched in 2019. We're so excited to have made progress and three items have been ordered and are underway. We hope to have these installed as soon as possible, but lead times are a little prohibitive on lumber and building equipment htese days, but look for more updates and fundraising opportunities soon!
