Battle Lake School Newsletter
October 2019
Battle Lake School Parents and Community
I am excited to introduce a new avenue of communication, home to all Parents and Guardians. This newsletter communication will be a monthly correspondence highlighting teaching and learning as well as all things happening here at Battle Lake Schools. This October addition will contain some highlights and updates of classrooms as well as activities.
We completed Homecoming Week with an exciting win on the football field followed by the Homecoming Dance in Henning. Homecoming Week is always a fun time for the students, and they enjoyed our dress-up days and activities all throughout the week. A date to keep in mind is Monday, October 7th. Our 7-9th graders will be spending the morning at Glendalough State Park participating in some team building activities. Our 10-12th graders will travel to Inspiration Point for a full morning of leadership training. Please be sure your students are dressed for the weather as most of the activities will take place outside. Also, be on the lookout for a web page refresh; we are in the process of updating and migrating our website over to a new, cleaner interface. There will be more communication of this to follow in the coming weeks.
Hopefully this newsletter helps you as a parent feel better connected to your students' learning and their experiences at school. Here at Battle Lake School we are always committed to excellence in education. We are continuously striving toward educational excellence in a safe, respectful, accepting environment: preparing all students to meet the challenges of a changing world. Our 5 pillars, skills, or expectations that make up our profile of a graduate include - Content Knowledge, Collaboration, Creativity, Critical Thinking, and Character.
If you have questions or would like more information about the classroom, please feel free to email our teachers or contact the office.
Sincerely,
Ryan Severson
