c/o 2023 Senior Letter
Attention Seniors and Parent(s) or Guardian(s):
eSTEM/ERHS Counselor Message:
Congratulations class of 2023! We want you to know how incredibly proud we are of you! You have gone through three years of high school, taken AP/honors/college prep courses, participated in extracurricular sports and clubs, completed community services hours, and much more. You should be so proud of yourselves.
As you start your senior year, I understand how stressed and nervous you may feel knowing you will navigate college and financial aid applications. We have many things in place to help you through this process.
In the next few days you will receive in the mail your unofficial transcript and a-g student report with my notes, as well as a Senior Letter and College Apps at a Glance. All of this can be found in your eSTEM Counseling Google Classroom and will be shared in detail throughout this newsletter.
Senior Grades Count:
- To meet the college/university requirements you must earn a C or better
- To pass your classes for high school graduation you must earn a D or better
- A minimum of 220 credits and completion of all requirements are needed to participate in commencement ceremony in June 2023
Unofficial Transcript:
ALL STUDENTS:
Credits: Review the number of credits completed in the top right corner. A typical student starting 12th grade should have 180+ credits completed.
Courses Taken Outside of ERHS/CNUSD: IF you have taken courses outside of ERHS/CNUSD, be sure these courses are transcribed onto the transcript. Courses from other schools will be added only if you provided an official (unopened) transcript to the ERHS Registrar. If you are missing a course, get an official transcript to the registrar ASAP.
Check for Correct Information: Check that your legal full name, address, phone number, date of birth etc. are correct. Changes can be made on Parent Connect.
Your legal full name must match your social security card for financial aid and college application purposes.
Colleges/Universities and FAFSA/CADAA use the information we have on file to match their records. Incorrect name, address, date of birth, and/or phone number can result in delays.
eSTEM STUDENTS:
STEM Pathway: Cross-reference your transcript with the STEM pathway to ensure you’re adhering to it the best you can. Also, double check that the pathway I circled is the one you followed.
STEM Stole Requirements: I’ve indicated on your transcript if you are on track for the STEM Stole.
A-G Report:
This was mailed to you and provided again in our senior presentations on October 3rd and 4th.
Review a-g courses for accuracy.
Areas you've met minimum requirements are green/grayed out.
Areas you still needs to meet are left white.
Review your a-g college GPA -- highlighted on the top left.
This GPA consists of courses taken summer after 9th grade through summer after 11th grade and will include ONLY a-g approved courses as well as college/dual enrollment transferable courses. For additional information on the UC/CSU GPA, click here.
The UCs/CSUs give 8 point bump max for UC honors-level courses (ex: A = 5). If you exceed 8 points (which would be 8 semesters of courses), then the rest are counted as the letter grade (A = 4). To find a comprehensive list of all our A-G courses click here. All courses on the A-G list with a gold star on the left receive the honors/AP GPA bump.
