A Special Thank You
Time is so very precious. Everyone has so much to do and very little time to get everything done. Understanding how precious time is, I want to thank everyone who donated to or volunteered at last Friday's PTO Family Fun Night. Our families had an incredible time because of the efforts of those who helped make this event happen! I especially want to thank our PTO Board members, our Family Fun Night chairpersons, and our room parents for all of their work and dedication in putting this event together.
Yesterday, we had our first PTO Science Day. Students were involved in experiments in their classroom, learned about different experiments that they could perform at home, and observed two presentations on different scientific areas hosted by Eli Lilly and 3M. It was an incredible day that was made possible by the hard work of two of our parents who organized this event, Tina Kirchoff and Carissa Susalla, and by numerous volunteers to helped with experiments and provided demonstrations. Thank you to all of you for your hours of work and dedication in making this day so incredible for our students.
Central Elementary and Plainfield Community Schools are exceptional, because we have exceptional people like you! Thank you for all that you do.
Bad Weather Is Coming!
For PCSC will also post school delay and closing information on the PCSC website (http://www.plainfield.k12.in.us/pcsc) and on Channel 13 WTHR.

PTO Meeting
Our next PTO Meeting will be held on Monday, November 17, 2014 at 6:30 pm in the Central Elementary Cafeteria. Please join us as we begin preparing for several student activities including December's Christmas Parties and our annual Santa's Shop.
Dress Warm for Recess
As the temperatures start to fall, we would like to remind students that they need to dress appropriately for the weather. Students go outside for recess unless the wind chill falls below 20 degrees. Please make sure that your child has a coat, a hat, and gloves to wear for recess.
December PTO Night at Barnes and Noble
We want to get the word out early, because we are excited about this special fundraiser. On December 5th, our PTO will be hosting a fundraiser at Barnes and Noble in Plainfield. This is an all day event. From open to close, Central families simply show their voucher (which will be sent home) and a portion will go to the Central Elementary PTO no matter what is purchased. If you cannot drop by on the 5th, Barnes and Noble is also allowing Central families to purchase all weekend online using the voucher code. The Student Council will be working at this event from 5:00-8:00 pm. We hope to see you on December 5th at Barnes and Noble in Metropolis!
