What's Up in 4th Grade!
Language Arts
Students will practice the concepts and skills learned throughout our fourth unit. The spelling patterns practiced over the past five weeks will be reviewed and tested. Use the spelling patterns from your child's agenda to review. Students will practice identifying author's purpose, summarizing, identifying causes and effects, and main ideas and details in a variety of texts.
Math
leap year= 366 days
decade= 10 years
century= 100 years
millennium= 1,000 years
We will also be reviewing customary and metric units of measurement for our test on Friday, March 3. A review was sent home today and is due next Thursday, March 2.
TEST: Friday, March 3.
Science and Social Studies
Next week, we start science and students begin to understand and communicate the importance of water and weather.They understand that there are recognizable patterns in the natural world and among the Sun, Earth, and Moon system. They are also expected to measure and record changes in weather and make predictions using weather maps, weather symbols, and a map key.
