"Be Who God Made You to Be"
Sunday we're teaching elementary kids to "Be Who God Made You to Be". This is just as important lesson for us as adults to learn. It's about IDENTITY.
Who did God make you to be?
You were chosen by God. His choosing you is not about you, it's about Him. You get the privilege of echoing the sound of freedom that began at the cross to a whole new generation that need to hear it, so echo it well.
Because you are chosen, He has placed a calling on your life. His calling on your life is to be his sons and daughters.
You are sons and daughters of the King. You have annointing, authority, privilege, not based on anything you have done, but because of who your Father is.
That is your calling: to be his son or daughter. When we come to that realization then we will minister wherever we are. Your anointing and calling flow from your relationship with your Father, not your own abilities.
Reflect:
- Ask the Lord to show you who are in Him.
- Ask Him to reveal any lies you might be believing about who you are and replace them with the truth.
- When you know who you are, then you can confidently walk forward and show others (your team, parents, kids that you serve) who they are in Jesus too!
How You Can Help Victims of Hurricane Harvey
We have all been heartbroken by the devastation Hurricane Harvey left in its wake, and NewSpring is partnering with Bayou City Fellowship Church in Houston to help with relief efforts. The local church will be here for years to come, and the people affected by this tragedy will need support indefinitely. The best way we can support the city’s recovery efforts right now is through praying and giving. You can give to those most affected by this hurricane in two ways:
- Go to www.bayoucityfellowship.com. Every dollar you give to Bayou City Fellowship’s relief efforts goes directly to families devastated by Hurricane Harvey.
- You can also give to Team Rubicon, a nonprofit that unites the skills and experiences of military veterans with first responders to rapidly deploy emergency response teams. To give to Team Rubicon, go to www.teamrubiconusa.org
