Slope Intercept Form
The equation of a line
Slope Intercept Form is y = mx + b
The m is the slope. The slope tells us how the line moves.
- Slope is the constant rate of change between the points on the line.
- We find slope using rise over run or the slope formula.
The b is the y-intercept, it tells us where the line begins.
- The y-intercept is a point on the y-axis.
- The coordinate for the y-intercept is (0,b)
