Education Sabbath @ Ephesus SDA Church
Education Sabbath-May 7
Our Education Sabbath program is next week! A reminder that EJA will be leading out in the entire church service at Ephesus SDA Church on May 7th. The program begins at 11:00 AM. This will be a time to showcase our school and our amazing students. Please plan to attend this event, and invite your family and friends to join us as well!
We would like for all of our students to participate in this service in-person. If there is a conflict or you have concerns, please let us know right away so that we can plan the program accordingly.
Students will be wearing their full dress school uniforms for most of the program (Wednesday uniform), but our music teacher has requested specific outfits to be worn for one of the choir performances. We wanted to give you a heads up so you can start looking for these items. Students will come to church wearing the outfits for the performance (see below), and then change into their school uniform for the rest of the program. Please see the information below, and make sure that your student has the required attire and school uniform ready before May 7th.
Choir Performance Attire
- Green Camouflage pants
- Oversized white or off white/cream button up shirt (big enough to wear another shirt underneath)
- Solid Black T-Shirt
- Black Bandana
- Girls-solid headwrap or scarf
- Boys-a straw or brim hat
Much of these can be found throughout the home. The goal is for them to look like a runaway slave so it doesn't have to "fit" necessarily. If a student doesn’t have the exact requirement, please find something close to it. Please let us know if you have any questions.

MAP Testing Begins Monday
Our final week of MAP Testing begins next week! A reminder that the testing is done completely online, so students will need to make sure they bring their laptops back to school on Monday, fully charged. 1st-2nd graders will need to bring headphones so that the test can be read to them. Students should expect to test for a few hours each day on their laptops. We will reduce homework and projects for the next two weeks to give students time to focus on the tests. For more information about the tests, please visit the link below.
It's also a good idea for students to get an adequate amount of sleep each night and eat healthy meals throughout the week. This will help them to stay focused and stay alert during the testing.
