NEW! Tricia's Scholarship for Nursing
VNA and the family of Tricia Marie Simpson Russell established a memorial scholarship to assist Northwest Indiana nursing students with advancing their education.
Tricia, a primary nurse during her four years at VNA, was a role model for nurses and was the first to volunteer to pilot the primary/staff nurse team concept to improve the quality and continuity of patient care.
According to family members, Tricia loved being a nurse. Tricia was a kind, caring and generous person who believed that nothing was more important than being a mother and a nurse.
Eligibility:
Applicants must be able to provide evidence of application to/current enrollment in a nursing program in the state of Indiana. Previous scholarship recipients are not eligible to apply.

NEW! Professional Athletes Foundation Student Scholarship
Eligibility
1. Overall High School Grade Point Average of 3.0 or better;
2. Must be a high school senior;
3. Acceptance into a two-year or four-year college or university;
4. Nominated by high school coach;
5. Participated at the varsity level in athletics for at least one year;
6. Has not accepted a full scholarship award or grant (athletic or academic);
7. Is not the son or daughter of current or former NFL Player.

NEW! America's Farmers Grow Ag Leaders Program
Every year, Grow Ag Leaders awards more than $500,000 in scholarships to students studying in ag-related fields. In 2020, more than 350 scholarships totaling more than $500,000 will be awarded across the U.S.
Agriculture creates nearly 54,000 jobs each year, and almost half of these go unfilled. It’s up to farming communities to remind students that a career in ag is beneficial to both their own personal success stories and our growing population. Grow Ag Leaders asks farmers to endorse high school seniors or college students for a chance to win a $1,500 scholarship to support their higher education studies in ag-related fields. Applications are now open; follow the steps below to get started!
STUDENTS
- Make sure you’re eligible!
Students must:
- Be high school seniors or enrolled as full-time students in college.
- Plan to pursue a degree or certification in specific areas of agriculture and eligible majors (a complete list of areas/majors is available in the America’s Farmers Grow Ag Leaders Program Overview ffa.org/scholarships

- Have a minimum 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale.
- Obtain two endorsements from Eligible Farmers
- Students do not have to be FFA members to apply.
- Apply at ffa.org/scholarships
- Gather your farmer endorsements! To be considered, each applicant is required to receive endorsements from at least two local farmers. At the end of the application you’ll receive an application I.D. number to give to your endorsing farmer.

- With one application, students can apply to 25+ scholarships. The Legacy Scholarship application asks specifics questions regarding the eligibility for each of our scholarships. The system will automatically determine which scholarships they qualify for.
- Students who started the Lilly application (even if just partially), can import all of their previously entered information into the application. This means completing the Common Application will take much less time!
- Students will be required to upload their first semester Senior transcript
- Students will be required to upload two (2) Letters of Recommendation – these DO NOT have to be addressed specifically to Legacy; they can use letters they have for school, employment, other scholarships, etc.
- We are NO LONGER requiring students have the Recommendation Profiles completed through our online system.
We have a lot of great opportunities this year!
- Webster Cornwell – up to $12,500 renewable ($50,000 total)
- John Anderson Foundation – up to $10,000 renewable ($40,000 total)
- Roger Begnoche –Three (3) $6000 renewable ($24,000 total) for male students studying teaching or nursing

CollegeBoard Opportunity Scholarships - Class of 2021
The College Board Opportunity Scholarships program opens in December for the class of 2021.
Early efforts will get rewarded! Students who've already taken action to build their college list on BigFuture™ and link their College Board and Khan Academy® accounts to practice for the SAT® on Official SAT Practice will automatically earn a scholarship entry when they join the program once it opens.
Getting Juniors Started in December1.
Students should join the program by signing in with their existing College Board account (same one they used for the SAT and PSAT/NMSQT®) or they can create an account if they don’t have one.

They should click on the yellow Earn Scholarships button at the top of the homepage.

They should review the official rules on the Opt In screen and click Agree. Then they’re ready to start turning their efforts into scholarships!

The more effort you put in, the more opportunities you have to earn a scholarship. Complete all six, and you’re eligible to earn $40,000. Scholarships will be awarded through monthly drawings to students who complete each action.

Burger King Scholars Program
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
BURGER KING® General Track - Available to all high school seniors who meet the criteria below.
Note: Employees, spouses or domestic partners of employees, and dependent children of employees who meet eligibility requirements for the General and Employee-Based Track will be considered for an award in both tracks, but if selected, will receive only one award.
Applicants must-
- Be living in the United States, Canada or Puerto Rico
- Be graduating high school seniors (U.S. and Puerto Rico), graduating from grade 12 (Canada) or graduating from home school education in the U.S., Puerto Rico or Canada
- Have a cumulative high school grade point average of 2.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale, or the equivalent
- Plan to enroll full-time, without interruption, for the entire 2020-21 academic year at an accredited two- or four-year college, university or vocational-technical school in the U.S., Canada or Puerto Rico

Gongaware Scholarship (Indiana State University)
2019-2020 Gongaware Scholarship Information:
The Gongaware Scholarship is for students planning to major in financial services or insurance and risk management.
- Full in-state tuition
- Additional $3,000 professional development account to be utilized over the four years
- Up to four awards available
- Renewable for up to three additional years
- Open to Indiana and out-of-state residents
- Not open to international, online-only, or returning ISU students
- Admission deadline: December 1
- Requirements (listed below) must be satisfied by December 1.
- To be awarded this scholarship, students must be entering ISU fall semester.
To be eligible to apply, students must be admitted as an incoming freshmen to Indiana State University. Qualified students must possess two of the following three criteria:
- A cumulative grade point average of at least 3.5 on a 4.0 scale
- An 1140 SAT (Evidence-Based Reading and Writing and Math) or 23 ACT
- Ranking in the top 15% of their senior class

Horizon Bank Minority Scholarship Application
Along with the UL General Scholarship Application, please submit an essay (not to exceed 500 words) detailing your character, leadership and community service and how you plan to utilize your education and experiences to help improve society. Additionally, please submit a transcript and a one-page resume, along with 2 brief letters of recommendation.

Foot Locker Scholar Athletes
In order to be eligible for the Foot Locker Scholar Athletes Program, the applicant must:
Be entering college in the Fall of 2020 as a Freshman at an accredited four-year institution for an undergraduate degree;
Be currently involved in high school sports, intramural sports, or community based sports.
Have a minimum GPA of 3.0;
Be a U.S. citizen or permanent legal resident (you will be asked to prove citizenship and age if you win);
Not be an employee, officer or director of Foot Locker, Inc., or any of its subsidiaries, or a member of the immediate family of such an employee, officer or director.

GE Reagan Foundation Scholarships
ELIGIBILITY
To be eligible for this award, applicants must:
- demonstrate at school, at the workplace, and within the community the attributes of leadership, drive, integrity, and citizenship;
- demonstrate strong academic performance (minimum 3.0 grade point average/4.0 scale or equivalent);
- be citizens of the United States of America;
- be current high school seniors attending high school in the United States (students living on U.S. Armed Forces base and homeschooled students are also eligible); and
- plan to enroll in a full-time undergraduate course of study toward a bachelor’s degree at an accredited four-year college or university in the United States for the entire upcoming academic year.

2020 John F. Kennedy Profile in Courage Essay Contest
Describe and analyze an act of political courage by a US elected official who served during or after 1917.

Jackie Robinson Foundation Scholarship
To be eligible for a Jackie Robinson Foundation Scholarship, an applicant must:
- Be a graduating, minority high school senior
- Plan to attend an accredited and approved four-year institution within the United States
- Show leadership potential
- Demonstrate a dedication to community service
- Present evidence of financial need
- Be a United States Citizen
- Have a minimum SAT score of 1,000 combined on the math and critical reading sections or a composite ACT score of 21
- Not possess a degree from a 2 or 4-year college when applying for the scholarship

2020 EngineerGirl Writing Contest
Every year, the EngineerGirl website sponsors a contest dealing with engineering and its impact on our world. The topic and detailed instructions for the contest are posted in the fall with a deadline for submissions early the following year. Winners are announced in the spring.

2020 Flavorful Futures Scholarship
Applications must meet ALL the following criteria:
- Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent legal resident of the United States.
- Must be a high school senior graduating between August 1, 2019 and July 31, 2020.
- Must have a cumulative high school grade point average (GPA) of at least 2.5 on a 4 point scale (high school/home schooled seniors).
- Must enroll for Fall 2020 as a freshman or 1st year student in part-time or full-time study at a 2-year, 4-year, college, university, trade or vocational school.
- Must not be a relative or dependent child of an employee of Talking Rain or any of its retail customers.

The U.S. Selective Service System and U.S. Department of Education have requested help in communicating a reminder to students in Indiana of the registration requirements under the Military Selective Service Act, 50 U.S.C. 3801-3820. Males are required to register beginning 30 days prior to their 18th birthday and extending 30 days thereafter. Late registration is accepted up to the 26th birthday. Failure to register prior to reaching age 26 may result in unfortunate life consequences, including:
Ineligibility for employment by the federal government, the U.S. Postal Service, and many state and local governments;
Ineligibility to receive federal and, in some cases, state student financial aid;
Ineligibility to receive job training under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act;
Ineligibility for security clearances; and
Delay in citizenship proceedings.
