How Broadway has changed over time
Broadway has changed over time by the different shows that they play. When broadway first began it was entirely love stories, or comedies. Now they are using musicals to spread a message about society issue or historical events that happened. In the beginning of broadway, it was not thought of to be able to spread a empowering message about the strength of women (Waitress), African American struggles (The Color Purple) or gay expectancy (Kinky Boots). Such as Kinky Boots is a huge conservery on Broadway right now because it is the biggest broadway hit that has drag. Even though it is an award winning show, on Thanksgiving, in the Thanksgiving day parade many people were very upset because they preformed a song from it. This would have been unheard of in the 1900s, broadway has changed with the culture of america.
