Food Web
Desert Food Web
The producer of the food web is the cacti. The primary consumers are the ones that eat the producers which are the small lizard and the ground squirrel. The secondary consumer is the one that eats the primary consumers which is the large lizard. The tertiary consumers eat the secondary consumer which are the kit fox and the golden eagle.
Mutualism
The golden eagle eats the ground squirrel and it benefits the eagle and the cacti since they do not get eaten.
Commensalism
The ground squirrel eats the cacti and it only benefits the squirrel.
Parasitism
The kit fox has fleas on it. The fleas live on and depend on the kit fox to live.
Ways humans impact the environment
Humans impact the environment in many ways. Some are god ways but some are not. Humans build military bases in desert sometimes. These can have positive and negative outcomes. The fences protect the animals and plants but the tracks of the humans and the trucks make it hard for the animals to live.
