~New Announcements~
Hangout Club Unified Track Meet
The Hangout Club is hosting a Unified Track Meet on Weds. 3/20! This event is open to all AGHS students both with and without disabilities! Events include Long Jump, Shot Put, the 100m Dash, and 4x 100 meter relay! We also need volunteers, please scan the QR code or see Mr. Reid in room 983 for a permission slip. Space is limited to 20 volunteers so first come first served!
Cosmetology School
Are you interested in becoming a Cosmetologist? Lucia Mar has the perfect program for you! We are a full-service Cosmetology School offering classes to Lucia Mar high school students and through Adult Education.
Our next enrollment starts March 25, 2024
Tuition: FREE/ Material Costs: $2,500
(payment is due by March 1, 2024)

Attention all students that plan on working this year. Please submit a completed work permit request form to Mr. Coville ASAP, or email him at trevor.coville@lmusd.org. Anybody that needs their current permit extended can stop by Room 510, or email Mr. Coville as well.

Lions Club Contest
The Lions Club level Student Speaker contests were held on February 7th and February 20th. Winning each competition was Marissa Sabo at Arroyo Grande and Amelie Moustirats at Pismo Beach. They will next compete in the Zone level competition on March 14th.

SENIORS-Check the AGHS Local Scholarship page on the AGHS website for the most recent scholarships. Academic, Hardship, Vocational, and many more Scholarships are available. Hurry because deadlines are approaching.
~Counselor's Corner~
Scheduling season is in full swing! Counselors have met with all 10th and 11th grader students to schedule them for their next year of classes. Please see your student's Academic Plan in Aeries (click on “Classes” and then “Academic Plan”) to see what they have scheduled. Counselors will be meeting with 9th grade students over the next two weeks to complete their schedules.
Incoming 9th, Welcome to the Nest! Counselors will be headed to the middle schools in March to begin the process of registering our incoming 9th grade students. We will have our annual Welcome to the Nest event on Monday, March 11th from 6:00-7:30PM in the Gym. See flyer in the newsletter.
Need help with FAFSA? We will have a one LAST Cash for College workshop on our campus on THURSDAY, MARCH 7TH from 4-7PM in our library. There will be trained staff available to help with completing the FAFSA/CADAA application which is due April 2, 2024. If you wish to opt out from completing the FAFSA application, you must complete this FORM. NOTE: It is mandatory to submit a FAFSA/CADAA application in order to access the Cuesta Promise (free 2 years) for students planning to attend Cuesta in the Fall of 2024.
Connecting with your counselor: Just a reminder that counselors are always out on campus during break and lunch and are available for appointments with your student. Please call, email, or come into the counseling office to schedule an appointment. We are here to help students with all things academic, college and career, and social emotional.
~Attendance~
Make Sure to Clear your Absences
Clear Absences by 4pm Tuesday, 2/27/24. Please make sure that the Attendance Office is informed of the reason for any still unverified absences for 1/29/24 - 02/23/24. After that date, we will not be able to make any changes.
College & Military Visits
Seniors and Juniors planning a college/military visit should stop by the Attendance Office to pick up an Excused Absence Request form ahead of their visit. If approved, up to two days may be excused. Visits that will last longer than two days would require a Short Term Independent Study Contract to excuse the absence.
