Whatever you have planned for the extended weekend, we hope you make time to enjoy your families while remembering & honoring the veterans who lost their lives while serving the armed forces to protect the rights and liberties we hold so dear.
Don't forget, there is NO CHECK-IN Sunday or Monday. We will have CHECK-IN TUESDAY morning, 5/28, between 6-7:30 a.m.
Class of 2020 Spirit Night - THANK YOU!
The Class of 2020 thanks everyone for coming out last Monday in support of Spirit Night @ the District Heights Chick-fil-A for their last class fundraiser for this school year.

Annual SEED DC Athletic Awards Banquet
We are extremely excited to announce our Annual SEED DC Athletic Awards Banquet on Tuesday, May 28, 2019 in the Charles B. Adams gymnasium from 6:30-9:00 p.m. This event is to celebrate each team's wonderful season full of accomplishments and accolades. All 14 teams with over 100+ student-athletes and their families are welcomed to attend as every team will be recognized.
This year, all the teams' programs will be timely as to make this event as efficient as possible. The event has been revised for all the guests enjoyment throughout the entire banquet.
This is a formal event that is held at the end of the year to showcase the fall, winter and spring athletics programs. FORMAL ATTIRE is requested.

9th-11th Grade Families - SUMMER SCHOOL INFO
9th-11th Grade Families,
As we prepare for the end of year, SEED will be working with 9th-11th graders that failed select classes within the scale range of 50-69%, from June 10th-19th from 8 a.m. to 4p.m. Attending scholars will complete projects and extended work. These scores will be combined with their final semester/year end grade. All other scholars with grades lower than 50% will have to attend the full summer school period. Families will receive phone calls, emails, and a letter to confirm if a student is in danger of failing a course. On Saturday, June 1, the Bowser Administration will host the third annual
We the Girls Leadership Conference at Eastern Senior High School.
The conference, which is for young women in grades 5-12, celebrates our young women of color in DC Public Schools and provides students opportunities to engage in workshops on leadership, identity, college readiness, bullying, health/wellness, and much more. It will also include workshops for educators and parents centered on gender equity and supporting young women of color. Registration is open until Friday, May 24.

Final Family Coffee for SY1819 - 5/28, 8-10 a.m.
Don't forget to sign up for the last family coffee of the school year. We will start w/a Title One parent session to discuss events of this year and plans for next year and then a representative from BB&T will talk about money management. Families will be able to open student accounts onsite, if desired.
