ESSER III Application Support?
ESSER III - Now available!
Things to Know:
- Application available 4/29/21; due 7/27/21
- Grant Period: 3/30/20 - 9/30/23
(with carryover, available through 9/30/24) - Check out your LEA's entitlement here
- ESSER III will be supplemental funds for your LEA (not being supplanted at the state level)
- 2/3 of the grant will be available upon NOGA
- Remaining 1/3 will be available after USDE releases funds to TEA (you will need to amend your application at this time)
- At least 20% of your total amount must be spent to address learning loss
(in your initial application, calculate 20% of 2/3; in your amendment to receive the remaining 1/3, recalculate the 20% of the full amount)
Would you like a reference sheet to guide your ESSER III planning? Check it out!
Are you wondering what happened to ESSER II funds?
ESSER III statute had a clause that required states to make the funds available within a certain time frame. ESSER II's statute did not have this clause. Legislators are still in discussion about how to handle ESSER II. The state's maintenance of effort requirement has complicated things a bit. As we learn more, we will be sure to share with you.
