LAKE WORTH HIGH SCHOOL
Weekly Memo 12/5/2016
MISSION
We will lead all students to be productive citizens.
VISION
Lake Worth High School provides a customized learning experience that values individual growth and achievement.
GOALS
1. During the 2016-2017 school year, LWHS will increase the amount of time students are reading and/or writing in all core classes every day and in all elective courses at least once per week by reviewing walk-through data, student assessments, and student artifacts in PLCs.
2. By the end of the 2016-2017 school year, 70% of staff will rate school climate and culture questions as favorable (agree and strongly agree) on the annual staff survey.
3. By the end of the 2016-2017 school year, 20% of students will have participated in non-traditional modes of learning that include blended and virtual coursework by evaluating end-of-year course data.
Thanks so much to all of you that put together the beautiful ceremony and were able to attend the celebration of life for Mr. Thorpe on Friday. Please continue to keep Julie Thorpe and her family in your thoughts and prayers.
Lake Worth HS Culture Survey
Please take a few minutes to complete this brief survey. The school district has created the survey to gain valuable feedback on our progress and the continuing needs of our campus. Thanks!
INFORMATION FOR THE WEEK
- Don't forget the "Shout Out" board in the mail room. Feel free to share the great things about your colleagues and what's happening here at LWHS!
- The site-based meeting is scheduled for Monday, December 5th at 4:30 in the library.
- If you are on a campus committee, please see meeting dates below.
- Please see the email sent on Friday. One day this week we will be asking you to help administer Naviance to a group of your students. This will help students understand and select career and endorsement pathways and will help us build our schedule for next year.
- Please continue to post on Twitter and Facebook. Snap a quick picture of something great in class and post!
- Since we have a campus calendar full of events, I don't want to continue putting events in this memo that are on the calendar. I will only include items that I think are unique, that you need pay special attention to, or are for some reason not on the calendar.
