Monday Minute
Post-Conference Edition, 2019
New IMLEA/AMLE Dual Institutional Membership Now Available. Save on Introductory Pricing for a Limited Time
IMLEA and AMLE have teamed up to provide a collaborative membership for schools to bring you and your staff valuable tools and resources. We’ll help you:
· Learn new leadership skills to engage your entire staff.
· Put the latest middle school research into practice in your school.
· Provide all your teachers with the resources they need to help their students succeed.
Having both networks behind you provides the assurance that you are not alone. We’ll connect you and your staff with your local and global middle school community, giving you the opportunity to share ideas and strategies on how to create a great school.
AMLE/IMLEA Dual Institutional Membership allows schools membership in both organizations to all certified staff members for one price. The membership reflects our combined commitment to expanding access to professional learning, knowledge, and connection as we focus on the development and support of middle school educators. To view a full list of benefits or to join: http://www.amle.org/portals/0/pdf/membership/dual/Indiana_School.pdf
NOTE: If you have already joined either organization, you will only pay the difference and still receive the introductory rate. Questions? Contact Shirley Wright.
Champions Together Trainings Dates Set at Lowell, Brownsburg, and Rochester
Special Olympics presented the above video during our conference luncheon. Three training dates have been determined for middle schools interested in participating in Champions Together. Because student leadership is a key component of the training, you are asked to bring at least 3 students (with 5-10 ideal) with a faculty mentor, perhaps an administrator, and any other adults who want to be involved. The training itself will be led by students! Please contact Tori Cox at Special Olympics to register or ask questions. The video does a wonderful job of explaining how being a part of Champions can help transform the culture of your school!
NOTE: The big track and field meet featured in the video was held at Brownsburg Middle School West, the only middle school in Indiana named as a National Blue Ribbon School this year. Coincidence? We think not! Congratulations!
