Reading Workshop - Schema
Writing Workshop - Personal Narratives
- Continuing to write personal narratives
- Taking our writing through the writing process
- Revise by introducing characters and setting in the beginning of their story.
- Using transition words such as first, next, last, then, etc... to move our story along
- Editing for capital letters.
Please encourage your child to revise and edit any writing they do at home to practice these skills.
Math - Place Value and Number Sense
- Continuing to learn about place value, building 3-digit numbers, and comparing numbers using greater than, less than, and equal to symbols.
- Continuing to learn about patterns on a 100s chart and skip counting in order to see patterns and improve our number sense.
- Learning about the number line and using whole numbers to locate and name points on the number line.
Please encourage your child to practice these skills as they come up in daily life. The homework also includes some activities your child can do to practice these skills.

Parent/Teacher Conference: It is time for Fall Parent/Teacher conferences. Book Fair - The book fair begins next week. Information should have came home last week with information about dates and time. Please use this opportunity to purchase some Just Right Books for your child or gifts for friends!
Eagle Fest Fall Carnival - Our PTA has been working hard to plan the Eagle Fest Fall Carnival taking place this Friday, October 4th from 5:00 pm to 8:30 pm. The Carnival Committee has lots of exciting things planned for Eagle Fest, including 2 inflatables, a petting zoo, Kona Ice snow cones, a plate dinner of spaghetti with meat sauce (vegetarian options available), the box maze, the ring toss, Milk Bottle Throw, Angry Birds, and much, much more.
