Week of September 26th, 2016
Last week in science and social studies we learned about maps and electricity.
This week's homework is to use a number line to solve simple addition problems. I will also be sending home the books we have worked on in our guided reading groups. You students can read their book for homework as well. Homework will be due Friday 9/30. The books are on loan from our reading resource room so they will need to be returned on Friday as well.
Take a look at the week ahead:
- Reading-Sight word work, Phonics, and leveled Guided Reading
- Using number lines to solve equations, problem-solving and goal work.
We will continue working on personal narratives. You can help your student prep for this writing unit by talking/reminiscing about different things you have done together in sequential order. It can be anything from your most recent visit to the grocery store or a vacation you recently went on. Everyone has had shared fun experiences so far. We will focus on using the phrases first, then, last in our writing this week.
Continue to work on our map skills
Reminders and Helpful Information
- Team up for Hewitt day is Wednesday September, 28th. This is a day to show our school spirit as well as support our favorite team. You student can wear their favorite jersey!
- Our classroom tends to be chilly. If your child would like, they are more than welcome to bring a sweater with them to school. If they get cold easily, I would recommend it.
