Monday Morning Memo - Week 36
5/27/19
Dear Poupard Leaders,
Field Day
This year, we are having field day all day for all grades. Our students will be traveling around to station to station in their Dragon Dens with their Dragon Den Leader. This format also gives our older students a great opportunity to lead younger students. We will have three subs in the building on that day to provide release time to teachers during their planning period. Special Area teachers should plan on being with their assigned dragon dens and will get a break as well from a rotating sub.
Each station will run roughly for 10 minutes prior to students being notified to move to the next one. There will be 13 stations in the morning and another 13 in the afternoon. We have a good amount of parent volunteers that will be assisting with the stations, refreshments and etc throughout the day. Students will be attending their normal lunch and recess times.
This is one of the most memorable days for students during their time as an elementary student. The big people and little people will be exhausted after its all said and done, and I truly appreciate you all continuing to make this an outstanding experience for our kids! Come enjoy a cold beverage on me at Gilberts on Friday as a token of my appreciation to you all stepping up!
End of the Day Pickup
Please help out James and Kyle by having your students do a quick classroom cleanup at the end of each day. A little bit goes a long way for James as he navigates cleaning our entire building. Some ideas are having students play a game "Mystery Piece of Trash" that the teacher picks and rewards the student that picks it up and throws it away. :)
Looking forward to seeing you all tomorrow!
Your Fan,
Ali

Title 1 Orders (updated)
I'm sorry to announce that our Title 1 orders were delayed due to a processing issue. The issue has been resolved and the orders will sporadically be delivered starting in the middle of may through end of June. I truly appreciate your patience in receiving these tools!
Behavior Referrals
Behavior Referrals must be completed using the Online Behavior Form. Staff must complete the behavior form anytime a student is sent down to the office for a major office referral. Homeroom Teachers and Special Area Teachers are responsible for contacting the family to notify them of any incidents that occurred inside of the classroom. Please call home over an email whenever possible. Personally, I'd recommend sharing anything over 3-4 sentences over a phone call as well.
Emergency Sub-Plans
Over the next couple weeks, take some time to update your sub-plans inside the office. I ask this for a few reasons:
1. The office has had to scramble over the last couple of weeks
2. We don't currently have them for every teacher
3. It's been challenging finding quality subs as of late
4. Previous sub-plans may be outdated, which could lead to negative student behavior if the tasks are too easy or unappealing
