PV Will Be At-Home Virtual Learning Starting 12/14!
Pleasant View 5th Grade Spelling Bee
PV ON CBS58!
We wanted to let you know that our school was mentioned on a Sunday morning segment on CBS58! Please click here to read the article and watch the segment.
I also wanted to let you know that I spoke to the director at the food bank. She mentioned that the food donated will feed over 300 families and will keep their food bank stocked well into January. We cannot thank you enough for your generous donation. We often speak about the importance of stewardship and giving back. Our students and families truly went above and beyond to give back to our community. Thank you for all that you have done to help local families this season. I truly appreciate you.
MARQUETTE AVENUE EXPANSION NOW OPEN
The new extension of Marquette Avenue from South 49th to South 51st Street is now open for travel. As some parents may have experienced these first few days, it appears best for parents traveling to Pleasant View Elementary to enter Marquette Avenue from South 51st as shown in the diagram below. Buses will continue their normal drop-off routes and procedures. We remind all parents to maintain safe speeds when traveling in and around this new open roadway.
REGISTRATION FOR 22-23 IS NOW OPEN FOR NEW FAMILIES!
Our registration is now open for next school year for new families to the district and next year’s 4K. You can find all necessary details on our website here. Please note that students already enrolled in our schools do not have to have a new registration completed. You may utilize the “Create Account” and “Forgot Password” buttons on the registration page to complete your registration or gain access if you have created an account in the past. Please help us share that registration is open with any new families to the area or those with younger children that would be entering 4K or 5K!
DECEMBER SPIRIT DAYS!
MASK REMINDERS
As we continue to require masks for students, please remember the following:
It’s a good idea to wash your child’s mask frequently, ideally daily if possible.
Please ensure that your child has a few masks to rotate throughout the average school week
Please send an extra mask in your child’s backpack in the event they need another mask
When choosing masks for your child, please look for masks that have 2 or more layers of breathable fabric, cover their nose and mouth, fit snugly across the sides of their face, and don’t have gaps.
FRANKLIN PUBLIC SCHOOLS IS HIRING
We are hiring for Food Service Workers ($15/hour starting wage, full and part time), Kids Club Workers (working with students before and after school), and Bus Drivers ($20/hour starting wage, other bonuses, paid training through First Student in Muskego).
Click on the images below to go right to the postings and join a great team!
LOST & FOUND *NEW*
We now have a coat/storage rack outside of the main office where lost and found will be placed. Students should check this location if they are missing an item. Here are Photos of the lost and found items. Any unclaimed items for November will be donated on Friday, December 3rd.
DRESS FOR THE WEATHER
All students are required to go outside for recess daily unless the windchill is below zero or it is raining. When the temperature is below 50 degrees students are required to wear jackets/coats. Please make sure your student is dressed properly for the cold weather with hats, gloves, scarves, boots and snow pants. Snow pants and boots are required to be worn in order for students to play in the snow. Classrooms stay together as a group on a designated area of the playground - if your child's classroom is assigned a grassy area, this makes snow pants and boots essential.
PLEASANT VIEW SNOW BAGS AVAILABLE
Pleasant View has snow bags available for $8.00 each. To purchase with a credit or debit card, please log into your students PowerSchool account, where they are listed in the school store. You may also send exact cash or check payable to Franklin Public Schools to the school office. These are great bags to hold snow pants, mittens, hats, boots, & any other winter gear. It even has a spot for your student's name. See photos below:
ABSENCE REPORTING
It is essential to note that student absences are now reported using THIS FORM. The Absence Reporting Form is also located as a button on the Pleasant View webpage and under the “Parents Information” section. This form will require you to enter your child’s six-digit student ID number and birthdate before you can report your child absent. The Absence Reporting Form should be used to report ANY attendance change including late arrivals, early departures, and pre planned absences for both in-person and virtual students.

NEW SPEAK UP SPEAK OUT FORM
The District has joined “Speak Up Speak Out Wisconsin” for threat or incident reporting. This takes the place of our previous “StopIt” reporting form. Click on this link to view the new form. You will notice as you start typing the name of your school, the choices for schools narrows so you can select your school. By selecting your school, this report goes to the principal or local law enforcement when needed. The video linked below gives a good overview of how “Speak Up Speak Out Wisconsin” works and is good to review with your family.
Going forward, we will have a graphic for Speak Up Speak Out Wisconsin at the bottom of each newsletter that you can click on for quick access to report incidents if needed. You can also add the Speak Up Speak Out App on your phone for quick reporting by utilizing these links: iOS | Android
