Emerald Campus Weekly News
A note for students and parents-
Greetings!
As a reminder, the district will follow a remote learning schedule for Feb. 24-26.
The second required vaccine administration is scheduled to take place Tuesday, Feb. 23 through Saturday, Feb. 27 for Dublin City Schools. According to the medical data, more intense side effects are expected with this dose. Therefore, the district expects a much larger than normal staff absentee rate during Feb. 24-26, and determined remote learning is the best course of action for those three days later this month. This will help prevent a shortage in substitutes and, in some cases, allow teachers the flexibility to provide synchronous or asynchronous instruction depending on their health needs.
Learning will continue during our three remote learning days. Students should be prepared for synchronous learning, yet open to the possibility of a teacher stepping away from live/online instruction to either a) get their vaccine or b) because they are ill from their vaccine. In the case of teacher absence, an asynchronous lesson will be provided.
Thanks for your understanding!
Julie, Mark, and Lori

Scheduling Information
Reminder - Schedule requests were due February 10th through the home high school guidance. We are currently working on reviewing each students' requests to ensure prerequisites are met and students' choices keep them aligned with on-time graduation.
Students planning to participate in college credit plus again next year will need to complete the yearly required Intent form. Other necessary steps are embedded in the questions on the Intent form. If a student has already applied and been accepted to a university, they do not need to resubmit that apply.

3/3: School-Day SAT (All Juniors report in-person to home school for testing)
Dublin City Schools will be giving junior students the SAT this school year on March 3. Beginning in 2016, school districts in Ohio were required to select and administer a college entrance exam during the school day for the junior class at no charge to the student. The state’s decision to add this assessment opportunity aims to support students in meeting graduation requirements and planning for their futures.
