Woodlawn Weekly
December 14, 2018
As we enter our final week before Winter Break, please remember this is the start of an exciting and sometime stressful time for students. School is often the safe and consistent environment that not all children have at home. Staying focused on learning and maintaining high expectations will help us end 2018 with students successfully. Friday you may spend time celebrating with students. Please be sensitive to all of your students’ backgrounds and beliefs.
Scholars need to be in uniform the entire week- invitations for the MAPS Growth Party will include an Out of Uniform opportunity for these scholars on Friday.
#Cafeteria Control #ReviewDailywithStudents #Start-Monday12/17
Teachers’ names on their assigned table
Scholars enter cafeteria, sit at their assigned table, and await direction to get their lunch—one class at a time
Students are to raise their hand for assistance—they are not to get out of their seat for any reason other than emergency bathroom breaks
Bathroom passes ( one boy, one girl ) to hang by the door would ensure that multiple students are not congregating by the bathroom
Green, yellow, red cups at the end of the table communicate daily lunch behavior to teacher
Lunch point on Class Dojo (green = +1, yellow = 0, red = -1)
Reward for most Class Dojo lunch points per grade level coming in the new year
Dismissal routine for teachers:
Step 1—Clean up all trash from table and floor and place it on your tray
Step 2—Stand up
Step 3—Line up in a counter-clockwise rotation
