Principal's Message
As I complete my third year in West Allis, I am constantly reminded how fortunate we are to have a supportive community. I am looking forward to continuing our work next year with the same leadership team Mr. Hammernik, assistant principal, Kari Skonecki, Deeper Learning Coach, and myself, as the principal of Lane. I am truly proud to be the principal of Lane.
Since our building is growing in enrollment, I am happy to share that we will have 4, six grade teams of two teachers. Each teacher will teach either math/science or BL/ social studies. In 7th grade and 8th grade we will have 3 teams. Lane will continue to offer a Global house that follows our Guaranteed and Viable Curriculum as well as incorporating the United Nations Global Goals. In addition, we continue to grow deeper learning competencies within our work at Lane. Our school district is an exciting place to be as we support staff in growing their practice.
This summer we have staff attending national and local conferences to support their learning. Staff will also be offered opportunities to participate in book studies as well as bootcamps offered at the West Allis School District. In addition, we will be attending safety and mental health workshops to support the work of an awarded grant.
As usual, feel free to email or call me with questions. The Lane office will hold summer office hours 8:00 am - 3:00 pm. If the hours are adjusted, the times will be posted. It doesn't hurt to call first if you are wondering if we are open.
The Lane S'more will begin again in August and will be every other week to provide important updates to prepare for the next year. Please, save the date, August 15, for forms and fees.

STEAMania at State Fair
Included in Community STEM Events page on our website is information about STEAMania at State Fair. They’re looking for local youth to demonstrate/display their top-notch STEAM projects in the Youth Expo Hall during the State Fair. It would be a great way to show off those Future City models or Rube Goldberg machines!
