Ben Franklin

Benjamin Franklin was a scientist, inventor, and writer. He organized the first voluntary fire department and also discovered electricity. He drafted the constitution and the Declaration of independence along with negotiating the treaty of Paris in 1783 which marked the end of the Revolutionary war. He published a pamphlet called " The Nature and necessity of a paper currency"

John Locke

John Locke was a big part of the enlightenment era. He wrote an essay called "Essay concerning human understanding" in 1689 plus in other writing he said " people are free, equal, and have natural rights". His ideas influenced more than others American belief in self government and wrote the governments powers are limited to those the people have consented to give to it.
