LEARNING EXPERIENCES FOR ACADEMIC DISCOVERIES
COFFEE TALK
There will be a District Coffee Talk geared to elementary-aged parents.
Date: January 23rd
Time: 8-9 am
Location: Glenhope Elementary School
Topic: The topic will be "Making the Most of Play." The discussion will touch on issues, such as the role of imaginative play, how neuroscience comes into play, and possibly the extent to which asynchronous development should be taken into consideration when scheduling play dates.
4th Grade - Exploration
Fourth Grade LEADers were participating in a Gallery Walk. They moved from iPad to iPad, plugged in their headphones, and watched the presentations that their classmates created on Doceri. The presentations were on the lesson, Monument of Me. Each classmate wrote a specific, positive compliment to each presenter. At the end, we as a class discussed ideas that we noticed as being original or creative and then talked about what we could do better on next presentations.
2nd Grade - Systems
Second graders have been exploring using Kaplan's Depth and Complexity icons when researching simple machines and how they help our everyday lives. The icons they are focusing on this week are questions, rules, language of the discipline , and patterns . They have been using videos and articles located in a Follett Collection that Mrs. Bonnaci put together for us.
