Buildings Closed and Events Postponed or Cancelled
All Lapeer County school districts and the LCISD will implement the following:
- All events open to the public will be postponed until a later date or cancelled. This includes plays, musicals, concerts, Kindergarten Round-Up, community enrichment and other public events scheduled by outside groups but housed in district facilities.
- All school buildings are closed to the public including administrative offices. Bear in mind that some district-level essential employees will report during this time.
- All spring athletic competitions and practices are postponed or cancelled during this period.
- All district-sponsored international and domestic group travel is cancelled.
- Districts will continue to follow existing procedures including more frequent and intentional sanitization of classrooms and other high-traffic, touched-surface areas, in preparation for the return of students and staff.

Mayfield School Closure and What it Means for Murphy Families...
New elementary attendance boundaries had to be adjusted for Lynch, Murphy and Schickler. Turrill Elementary will continue to operate as a year round elementary school and is currently accepting applications for the 2020-2021 school year.
Based on the new boundaries:
- Students currently attending Murphy but whose address is no longer in the attendance boundary will be reassigned to the school according to the new boundary.
- Students currently attending Murphy by "In-District School of Choice" will be returned to their building of residency and will need to reapply.
If you would like to request a different building other than the one assigned to your child(ren) you will need to complete a new District School of Choice application by clicking the link below.
Please note if the number of applications exceed the space available, a lottery will be conducted for those that apply. Applications can be returned to your current building or the Administration Building. Parents will be notified of the status of their application the week of April 27, 2020.
