Flood's Flash

Good afternoon families,

Parent-Teacher conferences are a great time for school and family to partner together. This year conferences will be held on Wednesday and Thursday - November 4th and 5th. During conference time, we discuss student progress, plan for continued growth, and simply get to know more about each other. It is very important we have the opportunity to meet with every student’s parent, so thank you for signing up for your conference time.

REMINDER - Students do NOT have school next week. Staff have professional development and conferences.

Here are a few of my family’s favorite things to do in the fall - maybe you can enjoy one of these, too, during your week off:

  • Baking together - cupcakes, sugar cookies, pumpkin bread

  • Going apple picking OR making homemade applesauce (YUM)

  • Visiting one of our free Lee’s Summit parks

Wondering about school pictures? We are now scheduling them now and working on a plan for our online academy. And YES - Online academy will get pictures taken and will be in the yearbook. :-) Be watching for more information to come.

Please let us know if there is anything we can do to support your family!

Best, Mrs. Rachel Flood

Roadmap to Reopening

Click here for details on the district plan to re-open schools on Sept. 8, 2020.

A few notes on protocols and health guidelines for LSR7

* Staff and students wear masks at all times unless we are taking a mask break while socially distanced.

* Students will hand wash and/or sanitize hands each time they leave and enter a new space. Ex: from classroom to art, from PE to recess, from classroom to lunch, etc. . .

* Classroom desks/tables will be sanitized each time students eat breakfast.

* Students will maintain consistent seating charts in classrooms, at lunch, in special class and students will have assigned line orders. These practices will help us should we need to contact trace.

* The schedule has been build with extra time in between recesses and special class so equipment and materials can be cleaned.
