My Canadian Teen Culture
We Say About, Not Aboot
Core Values
My culture values school and sports before everything! My family believes that if you are an athlete and get good grades, then you will stay out of trouble and become more successful in life. I believe in god but we do not go to church.
Artifacts
In my life, the Tim Horton's cup is a very important artifact. It is special to me because not alot of other countries have them. Tim Horton's is a Canadian restaurant that makes our nation proud. Basketball is another artifact to me because a basketball basically represents my whole life.
Customs & Traditions
Christmas is the main tradition that my family shares. We will always have a christmas dinner with both sides of the family. On the 24th and the 25th we will have a turkey dinner. My family also celebrates birthdays. We will give presents to whoever is having their birthday.
Language
As a Canadian teenager, I speak two languages. At home I will speak English and that is also what i speak at school. Everyday we have a french class and we will speak french there.
Trailer
Camping is very important to me. My family goes camping every summer so I guess I can say that is is a tradition. We will try to go by ourselves and with friends to many different places so we get a variety. There is many beautiful parks in Canada.
