Very Important Information
1. HOMEWORK PACKET: Please remember.... from now on, your child will be given spelling and vocabulary words each week, and they will be assigned Study Island homework assignments to be completed, these are REQUIRED not OPTIONAL.
Students must complete at least 25 questions on each assignment to receive full credit. Their grade on study island will be their homework score. This will help them prepare for the MAP test and ITBS tests.
IF you would like for your child to get some extra practice during the week other than Study Island, please encourage them to work on the MAP testing practice links below.
2. STEAM DAY VOLUNTEERS: The FSA STEAM Day plans are moving full speed ahead for a great day of learning and fun on Thursday May 5th. We are looking for volunteers to work directly with the kids all day (some half day volunteer spots are also available) and have lots of great opportunities including working with art, fossils, gemstones, building stuff, and more. If you can’t wait to spend STEAM day at FSA, please sign up at http://vols.pt/4SEcEr
If you have specific questions about STEAM day, please contact Alison Gurevich at akgurevich@gmail.com
3. LIBRARY BOOKS: Monday, May 2nd we will have our last class visit to the media center to check out books. The media center will be used for testing the last few weeks of May, so it is very important that your child returns any books that they have checked out! If you are unsure... please email me and I will let you know what your child has checked out!
4. MAKER FAIRE PROJECTS: If you signed up to be a part of the Maker Faire back in February.... make sure your child's project is turned in! The Maker Faire will be held on May 4th.
MAP Testing begins THIS WEEK!
Here is our MAP testing schedule:
Friday, May 6th - Reading Part 1
Monday, May 9th - Reading Part 2
Thursday, May 12th - Math
Please make sure your students get a great night of sleep, and eats a healthy breakfast before coming to school on these days!
