Hawk Squawk

Happy 1st Day Eve
We have made it to the day before our first day of school and I am so excited. I hope your summer break was a blast and that you enjoyed the time with your family. My family and I had a summer filled with fun. My wife and I finally got to take our trip to Jamaica that was canceled twice, we visited friends in Florida, and we had a family reunion at Table Rock lake. We also spent many days at Six Flags. My girls finally ride the large water slides and we did our very first day where we came when the park opened and left when it closed. We stayed so long that my wife Jamie had to call us to make sure we were still safe and were planning on coming home. This summer was filled with so many fun memories and my girls are ready and excited for the new school year.
It was such a thrill seeing our families at Meet the Teacher night last week. With virtual last year, many of our families were walking through our halls for the very first time. The energy and excitement was amazing and I can't wait for our students to bring that energy this year. Remember to get a good night's sleep tonight and come ready to Soar Like A Hawk!

Birthday Celebrations at School
This year students will be able to bring non-food items for their class to celebrate in the room. Some items you may want to consider are fun erasers, pencils, stickers, or fidgets. There is also an option to order peanut-free and/or dairy-free items to celebrate in the cafeteria. Due to delays with distributors, any items ordered from the cafeteria need to be ordered three weeks in advance. Information can be found in the link below.
Birthday Treat Order Form (order three weeks in advance)
Expectations for Students During Extended Absences
When a student is out of school for an extended period (such as for quarantine), the Expectations for Students During Extended Absences document is a helpful tool for families working to support their students during an extended absence.
Responsible Use Policy
As we approach the start of the 21-22 school year, required student forms, along with the Responsible Use Policy (RUP) must be completed before your child(ren) can log into district technology resources. The forms, including the RUP, can be signed online through Tyler Student 360. The portal will open on the evening of Friday, August 13. Please complete the required form(s) before the start of the school, so that your child(ren)’s access will remain enabled for the start of the school year.
The Tyler SISK12 Student 360 website can be accessed from the homepage on the district website or using the Tyler Student 360 app.
Please be aware that there is a 24-hour delay between the submission of the forms and your child's access being reactivated.
2021-2022 Return to School
While masks are optional for all students and staff in the Wentzville School District, masks are required on all school buses per federal requirement. Any student who is not properly wearing a mask will not be permitted to ride the bus.
District staff will continue to remind students of the current masking requirement and may provide masks to students if they do not have one. District staff will also work with parents on this issue and if a student is not planning to wear a mask while on the bus, the family will need to make other arrangements.
Thank you for your understanding as we prepare for the start of the school year.
End of Day Procedures

Please be patient with us as we work through our first week and train our new team this year.
