WLC Remote Learning Update
A message on the schedule from Brian and Sarah
Flex Day Schedule
We wanted to take a moment to say thank you to everyone for their efforts over the past weeks of implementing remote learning at WLC. Throughout these challenging times administration and teachers have had a great deal of communication with parents and students and we recognize the level of commitment families are making to ensure remote learning is successful. We recognize that the work that you have done is substantial and you have all done a fantastic job. We also realize that with our schools now closed until at least May 4th, we have to think about remote learning long term and ensure that all learners meet with success. We hope to be back in schools this spring, but must consider the reality of extended remote learning.
With this in mind, starting this week, each Wednesday will be dedicated as a flex day for learners, families, and teachers. This flex day is a school day. It is not a day off for students or teachers, but will be an opportunity for extra help, remediation, and extension activities. Teachers may have sign ups for one on one or small group instruction, they will be communicating with students who are missing work, as well as encouraging doing some more challenging work for those students who are caught up.
Our WLC family is always in our thoughts. We are hoping that you are all safe and healthy. Please let us know if there is anything we can do to help.
