Reading Lab/Laboratorio de lectura
Reading Lab is off to an exciting start for 3rd quarter! Students have been digging into non-fiction texts while working on reading, writing, and speaking. We start classes with an engaging read-aloud and then work in centers while students conference individually with the teacher about their personal reading abilities and potential.

P.E.
First and foremost, the P.E. staff would like to welcome Mr. Kevan Reilly to the P.E. team! Welcome aboard!
The Physical Education program is running smoothly, thanks to the teamwork between the students, parents and teachers! The students are doing a great job being responsible and changing into their P.E. uniforms daily. The students are also continuing to be respectful and engaged in the curriculum while staying on task and working hard. Thank you parents for your partnership in helping your son/daughter with their uniforms. If you wouldn’t mind checking in with your son/daughter and asking them about their P.E. experience and if they are changing for class, we would greatly appreciate it!
Mr. Forde’s class is into their 2nd week of 4 in the health class. The students are doing a great job with discussing the topics that are being introduced. We have covered communication and talking/discussing in small groups, and decision making. They are doing a great job with their small group discussions, and then reporting out to the whole group class discussion. All grades are shining and doing a fine job!
Ms. Campbell’s classes are continuing to work extremely hard on their individual fitness! The High Intensity Interval Training or H.I.I.T training is a great way for the students to work at a level that is challenging and beneficial. All students work at a level that suits their individual levels and needs. They are all very responsive and working hard throughout each workout! Keep up the hard work, you all are doing excellent!
Ms. Esser and Mr. Reilly’s classes are currently in a floor hockey unit. The students started by practicing on skill work that included safety, proper stick handling, passing and shooting. They are currently putting their practice of these skills together, while working on teamwork and sportsmanship during floor hockey class games.
¡Bienvenido a bordo!
STEAM
Design and Modeling/Diseño y Modelo
Our 6th Grade Students are currently designing and creating their own puzzle cubes. They take 27 individual ¾” cubes and create a 3x3x3 working wooden puzzle! My students will then time other students, teachers & their families to see how long it takes to put the puzzles together to determine difficulty levels (ex: Ages 6+)
